Tattoo Removal

Tattoo removal lasers produce specific wavelengths of light that are absorbed by certain colors of tattoo ink while avoiding damage to surrounding skin tissue and chromophores. The most popular wavelengths used for tattoo removal are 1064nm and 532nm, which can both be achieved with a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser. Q-switched lasers produce sufficient energy to remove dark and bright tattoos without unattractive side effects like scarring

At Twacha Clinic we perform tatto removal via advanced Q-switched Nd YAG laser. Neodymium-doped Yttrium Aluminum Garnet (Nd: YAG) laser is a solid-state laser in which Nd: YAG is used as a laser medium. It is a four-level laser system, which means that the four energy levels are involved in laser action.

The Q-Switched Nd YAG laser targets ink pigment and breaks it up into smaller particles through powerful bursts of energy. Such ink is then absorbed into the blood stream and thereafter it is eliminated or expelled from the body.
